John Wilkinson took up the post of Director of Devices at the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency in February 2012. He joined the agency from Eucomed, the European medical technology industry association, where he was Chief Executive. He sits on the Corporate Executive team of the agency and Chairs the Executive Group of the European Competent Authorities network. His earlier experience included the role of Director General of the Association of British Healthcare Industries and a number of roles in the medical devices industry, both in the UK and the USA, with Becton Dickinson, the BOC Group and as Chief Executive of an imaging start-up company.
